While my kids were babies, I couldn’t oil paint. So I made five or six large quilts. It was very satisfying – something about wanting to keep the new responsibilites in my life warm, especially since I did not have studio. We lived in a small one-bedroom apartment at the time.
The quilts are now well-worn and well-loved additions to a tent pitched inside the house, or on top of a fort. Putting up a tent and adding some tunnels and cushions can turn the whole day around. -Lucy Mink-Covello, 2012
