Foam, photograph

  1. Amanda, this is a really nice photograph by itself. Its relationship to the painting is fascinating. I don’t understand why you named it “foam”. I see sand, hand, leg-elbow (which at first I thought was a a shoulder-arm!), shadow, imprints; blues and browns, grays and pinks, details and softness, distance and close-up, distortion, abstraction, figuration – all in a delicate loose relationship to the landscape-format boundaries. Did you output the image, or is it a cyber-sketch kind of thing for the painting?
