History of Black (Black Landscape) was a series I created in 2007. I still revisit the impulse to do pattern paintings with washes and texture. It started with an interest in black and white, I enjoy playing with negative space and pattern.
(Cleo) What I paint as a long-term subject are figures or other animate creatures. The paintings of cats are interesting to me while not overly psychological they impute character and presence. The cat dominates an expanse of space within an orchestration of light and shadow. -Camilla Fallon, 2012
