I have been working on an extensive drawing project for the past year, visiting artists in their studios and drawing their spaces. Alongside that I have begun to work on paintings from these drawings. I look at the drawings in a group and gather bits of information with a handful of fast glances. I am having fun adding random things here and there that I have found only in my memory of various studios, not in the drawings themselves. -Maria Calandra, 2012
