I started taking photographs with my cellphone a few years ago on long walks home from the day job. Garbage is visually many-splendored, and I continue to snap it, either with the phone or a small camera. What i do in the studio, painting and sculpture primarily, could be described as gathering glinting fragments from the refuse of my mind, allowing everything, from a hand tremor to palette scraps, a place in its proper constellation. -Heidi Pollard, 2012
